Uses your state's actual average electricity rate (EIA) and cooling load (NOAA population-weighted degree days) — not a national average. Works for all 50 states and DC.
Method (modeled estimate): annual cooling kWh = capacity (tons × 12,000 Btu/h) × equivalent full-load hours ÷ (SEER2 × 1,000). Full-load hours are modeled as 0.8 × your state's annual cooling degree days (1991–2020 population-weighted normals) — a documented simplification, not a measurement of your house.
